The online launch ceremony of the Samaranch Cup International Snow-Themed Contest(SCISC), jointly hosted by the Samaranch Sports Development Foundation, the Xinhua News App, and the Celebrity Academy, will be held on Aug.24. Aug. 8 marked 16 days countdown to the online launch ceremony.

A number of honorable guests, including Mr. Juan Antonio Samaranch Jr., chair of the Coordination Commission of the 24th Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 and founder of the Samaranch Foundation, will attend the ceremony. Additionally, surprise guests popular among young people will also give training courses online before the contest.

The contest is scheduled for two periods, the first one is before Tokyo 2020, and the second one is before Beijing 2022.

Contestants will give their answers to random questions all in English. Preschool children, primary school and junior high school students aged 4-16 around the world will be able to show their snow sports knowledge and language skills.
