On the afternoon of December 11, Samaranch Foundation held the first meeting of the second Council in Beijing.

According to the nomination of the founder of the Foundation and the examination and approval of the State General Administration of Sports, the competent business unit, the meeting will elect the members of the second board of directors of Samaranch Foundation and amend its articles of association. The meeting elected Ms. Li Lingwei as the second chairman of Samaranch Foundation, Yan Jianchang as the second secretary-general of Samaranch Foundation, and added Arthur as the new director and Zhang Hong as the new director.

Juan Antonio Samaranch, Chairman of the Coordination Committee of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and founder of the Foundation, participated in the Council through online video connection. Samaranch welcomed the new Chairman, Ms. Li Lingwei, and thanked Ms. Li Lingwei very much for accepting the invitation of the Foundation to serve as the second Chairman. Ms. Li Lingwei's position in China's sports world is obvious to all. I hope Ms. Li Lingwei can continue to contribute to the development of China and the international Olympic cause through the foundation platform.
